Sonko takes Baby Osinya on holiday at the coast

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko took Baby Satrine Osinya for Easter holiday at the coast along with his family.

The Senator on Saturday posted on his Facebook account that “his family, blessed with two new angels, was away in Coast to celebrate Easter holiday.”

He also posted photos of his children, together with the one and a half year-old Baby Osinya who was accompanied by his elder brother Gift.

The photos captured moments that they spent on the flight and at an unnamed beach hotel.

The photos also showed Senator Sonko’s wife carrying Baby Osinya along the beach and at a play area.

In the photos, the baby is in good spirits and appears unperturbed by the head surgery he underwent on April 1.

Baby Osinya hit the headlines after the Likoni Church attack on March 23 in which six people, among them his mother Veronica Osinya, died.

During the attack gunmen opened fire at worshippers at the Joy in Jesus church and Osinya’s mother was killed by a bullet she tried to protect her son. The same bullet found its way to the boy’s brain.

The baby was later airlifted to Nairobi for surgery to remove the bullet.

A team of Neurosurgeons at the Kenyatta National Hospital removed the bullet  in a  three-hour intricate surgery on April 1.

Dr Gichuru Mwangi, who led the team, had at the time said the baby was stable. The hospital discharged him a week after the operation.

The Nairobi Senator pledged to pay the baby’s school fees and help his widowed father Benson Osinya raise him.
