Spike Lee plants trees on Kenyan soil in honour of departed entertainers
Renowned American film director Spike Lee has honoured some of the greatest names in the entertainment industry who passed on this year by planting trees in Kenya’s world famous Maasai Mara National Reserve.
The 50-year-old posted a series of pictures on his Facebook page planting trees at the game reserve.
Among those honoured by the film maker, who is on holiday in Kenya, is English singer, songwriter and record producer George Michael, who died at 53 on Christmas Day.
Lee also planted trees in honour of legendary American boxer Muhammad Ali who died on June 03, 2016, singer-cum-songwriter Prince Rogers Nelson better known as Prince, who died on April 21, 2016, English singer David Robert Jones aka David Bowie (January 10, 2016), American rapper Malik Izaak Taylor aka Phife Dawg (March 22, 2016) and American actor Bill Nunn (September 24, 2016).
Lee also posted aphoto of himself and a group of Maasai morans captioned:
“Happy Holidays From My Brooklyn MASAI Brothers And Me Here In Kenya,Africa. #Safari Joint. YA-DIG? SHO-NUFF”
