SportPesa announce Cape Town City sponsorship
Kenya’s leading gaming firm SportPesa has added South African club Cape Town City to its swelling list football teams under its sponsorship.
The deal was announced on Friday by the club owner John Comitis who also hailed the new partnership.
“The decision to partner was more than a partnership. It was a footballing decision to open doors for this club. It gives exposure and access to players in an endeavour to have a team compete at the highest level,” Comitis said.
Comitis however stopped short of sharing the exact worth of the four-year deal. SportPesa has also not given details of the figures involved.

It is however interesting to note that SportPesa have agreed the deal with the South African side without having a business presence in the country.
Besides Cape Town City, SportPesa now boast similar deals with among other, top Kenyan clubs Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards, Tanzanian bigwigs Simba and Yanga, plus English sides Everton and Hull City.
