Stars, Tanzania match pushed to Nyayo

By BRIAN YONGA, December 10th, 2013 1 min read

The eagerly awaited Cecafa semi-final match between Kenya and Tanzania has been moved to Nyayo stadium.

The switch followed heavy rains in Machakos town that made the playing surface at the newly opened Kenyatta stadium waterlogged.

Kick-off time has consequently been rescheduled to 7pm to allow the two teams travel to Nairobi. The game was initially set for 1:30pm.

“It has just rained heavily in Machakos and more rain expected – Sema Baraka. Unfortunately we cannot have the CECAFA game due to rain,” Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua tweeted.

Machakos has hosted several Cecafa matches since it began last week.

Zambia play Sudan in the other semi final which starts at 4 pm in Mombasa.

The final on Thursday December 12.
