State withdraws Governor Joho’s security after he lectured Uhuru

The national government has withdrawn bodyguards assigned to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi.

Governor’s Joho’s Communications Director Richard Chacha has confirmed that the guards were withdrawn on Friday evening.

Leaders of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in the Coast region will address a press conference concerning the matter.

Mr Joho had on Thursday told the president to his face to show any project done by the Jubilee government for the people of Mombasa.

He pointed out that the footbridge erected at Buxton – which the president officially opened on Thursday– was implemented under the Kenya Municipal Program, and was initiated in 2010 before the Jubilee government came into power.
