Netizens have expressed displeasure after Stephen Letoo was photographed next to a woman during the Valentine’s Men’s conference.

The event was advertised as a men’s only affair that took place on February 14, 2023, at the Carnivore Grounds and was to be guided by the theme ‘creating better men.’

According to the invitation letter sent, Letoo noted that the discussions would surround men and their well-being, including mental health awareness, financial empowerment, and family law.

With the event gathering members from as far as Turkana, Letoo, a media personality, shared that the organisers planned for 200-300 people, but the numbers were surpassed.

Participants are reported to have started streaming to the venue from 2 pm for the expected event to start at 4 pm.

However, in the photos he shared on his socials, hawk-eyed Kenyans could not ignore a photo of Letoo with a lady. The photo has since caused an uproar on social media, with netizens feeling ‘betrayed.’

Here are some of the reactions;

“But did you allow this to happen? How did she even get in there?” asked Muma Ronald.

“You managed to sneak her in. That’s when you broke all the rules,” wrote Kemunto Kemto.

“Stephen Letoo answer us, what was she doing there?” posed Josh Wambisi.

“Chairman has betrayed us,” said Kamba Prince.

“What was that woman doing there?” asked John Sirere.

“What’s the lady doing in what would’ve been a men’s only affair!?” posed Arap Kavuludi Jr.

“Mr Chair, you can’t be preaching wine but taking water behind our backs,” wrote Roscendo Cavillan.

On Tuesday, Letoo clinched victory as the Men’s Conference chairman after garnering 10,023 votes. Cotu secretary general Francis Atwoli garnered 9,087 votes, emerging second during the tight voting exercise.

The seat fell vacant following the demise of Eldoret-based veteran politician-cum-businessman Mzee Jackson Kibor last year.
