Strathmore run riot over Machine

Last season’s Kenya Cup runners up Strathmore University retained their top spot at the league with a 33-3 thrashing over Mean Machine at the University of Nairobi grounds on Saturday.

Leos’ Marvin Sumba was given a straight red card for punching a Machine player five minutes into the game. His teammate Elton Isiaho would soon follow him following a dangerous tackle on Machine flyer Conrad Ouko.

Leos however managed to do the seemingly impossible, register a bonus point victory over Machine to stay top of the league with 20 points on superior points difference of 270.

Nakuru stay second, equal on points with Strathmore, but with a 256 superior points difference.

Total Nondescripts leapfrogged Mwamba to take third place following a 91-0 whitewash over Mombasa RFC at the Jamhuri Showground.

The Red Lions now have 19 points, just one behind Strathmore and Nakuru after four rounds of matches.

Mwamba round up the top four with 15 points following their 13-15 loss to Western Bulls at Kakamega High School.

The Black Shirts however picked up a bonus point for losing by less than seven points.
