Street children protest over abductions

Street children on Monday held a demonstration at the City center to protest the abduction of four of their own.

Scores of them gathered in town with placards that appealed to the government to protect them.

One of the protesters, Ramadhan told Nairobi News that last week four street children were abducted by two men.

“We only know them as Wamae and Gakaiya.  They have been offering us money and asking us to take an oath after which they take you never to be seen again,” said Ramadhan.

The street children chanted slogans of ‘we want the government to investigate the disappearance of the four and ensure our security.’

The street children added that their intention is never to harm or steal from anyone as they depend on people’s good will.

They added that they should not be subjected to any form of discrimination.
