South Sudanese man sentenced to life for raping minor at Nyayo estate
A 32 year-old South Sudanese man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for defiling a five year old girl.
Makadara Chief Magistrate Emily Ominde on Friday handed the sentence to Madhak Deer after he was found guilty of the offence.
Mr Deer was accused of defiling the girl on March 3, 2015 at Nyayo Estate in Embakasi, where he had gone to visit friends.
During the sentencing, the magistrate noted that Kenya and South Sudan did not have an extradition treaty.
The magistrate said Mr Deer has no fixed residence in Kenya and it is not clear where he resides in the country.
