Surgeons collapse after 32-hour delicate surgery


A photo of exhausted surgeons after a 32 hour operation has gone viral. The photo features two of the three surgeons who were part of a 17-member team that conducted six separate surgeries to remove a series of brain tumors from one patient.

In the photo, one of the surgeons, who was reported to have collapsed, lies flat on the theatre floor while his colleague flashed a “V sign” used to display victory.

The 17-medics team from Fuzhou Medical University Union Hospital in China’s Fujian Province have become an internet sensation in the country.

On Weibo, a Chinese social media platform, users celebrated the medical team for the great work that saw them work for 32 hours.

“They are real doctors who are responsible for lives and fulfill their promises to patients and their families. You are good examples,” a user Zhuang Mingxi was quoted by Global Times China.
