Suspects in Kayole stripping appear in court

Five suspects arrested for undressing and sexually assaulting a woman in Nairobi’s Kayole estate were arraigned in court Thursday but could not plead to charges as one of them is deaf-mute and requires an interpreter.

Mr Samuel Karanja, Mr Zachary Gitonga nderitu, Mr Kelvin Njuguna Wainaina , Mr David Kinuthia Mbathi and Mr Hosea Kasim, who is deaf, appeared before a Makadara court where they were charged with indecently assaulting the woman (name withheld). The five will take plea Friday morning.

The victim who is 23-year-old is still admitted at a city hospital, according to court documents filed in the case.

The prosecution says the suspects  intentionally touched the woman’s  private parts against her will.

The incident occurred along Mihango Stage in Kayole on November 17.
