Tanzanian street named after Victor Wanyama – PHOTOS
Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama is chuffed by the hospitality extended to him in Tanzania, including having a street in the country’s capital Dar es Salaam named after him.
This honour according to the City’s Mayor Boniface Jacob, was accorded to the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder in recognition of the great ambassadorial role he has performed for East Africa around the world.
Immediately after the event, Wanyama took to social media to appreciate the honour.

As exclusively revealed by Nairobi News early this week, Wanyama has alongside close friends and family members, been holidaying in Tanzania for the better part of the week, in readiness for the start of the English Premier League’s pre-season in July.
This event marks what has been a successful week for the Kenyan skipper on many fronts. Just this past week, he was voted the 2017 Kenyan Sports Personality of the Year at the annual Social Media Awards (Soma).
