Tanzanian tour guide speaks out on ‘fake translation’ video

A tour guide at a Tanzanian game park who was arrested for falsely translating a tourist’s has finally spoken out on the incident.

The guard, identified only as Simon, has released a second video with the female tourist to clear the air on the first video that went viral on social media.

The guide was arrested on unspecified charges last Thursday on the orders of Tourism Minister Jumanne Mshembe.

The guide was from the Serengeti National Park in the north-west.

In their defence, the guide and tourist said they were just playing around and the whole episode was a joke.

“Hi again, part two of our video. We were just playing around. Simon was being a comedian and we were doing a little joke on Facebook, thanks and it was just a joke,” the tourist said.
