Unending jams.  The expansion of Lang’ata Road from the Kenya Wildlife Service headquarters to the Bomas of Kenya, which started, more than a year ago, was greeted with excitement following a pledge to complete it in a short time, recalls David Jasondu.

However, the construction has stalled at the Bomas of Kenya junction because of some properties that stand in their way.

The government has been in talks with the owners of the properties for compensation, but apparently nothing has come of it.

The result is unending traffic jams. “When will the project be completed?” Jasondu asks.

Dry taps. Residents of the Kitengela Safaricom-Mungai area on Nairobi’s south-eastern outskirts have had a raw deal from the local water supplier since March, moans Veronicah Moturi.

The last time they got any water from their EPZ supplier, she adds, was on May 18 and June 19, and since then, their taps have remained dry.

She is, therefore, appealing to the Kajiado County government to ensure that people “enjoy safe clean water, which is a constitutional right.” Her contact is veron@yahoomail.com

In the dark. Since 2011, Zull Dhanji moans the streetlights on Rhapta Road at Westlands have been out of order, with not a word from the old City Council and its successor.

The problem, Zull adds, was never experienced during the days when Adopt A light had been given the responsibility to light up the city.

The residents have also so contend with an acute water shortage.

“Half of them get water full-time, while others are only supplied two times a week. Can Governor Evans Kidero please investigate?” His contact is Tel 073441165 or zull.dhanji.yahoo.com.

Defaulter’s fee.  When the Higher Education Loans Board recently announced a penalty amnesty to defaulters, Denis Munuve took advantage to clear his undergraduate loan.

However he immediately realized that he had overpaid the outstanding amount and immediately applied to Helb for a refund.

Since then he has visited the headquarters at Anniversary Towers and telephoned several times for the refund in vain.

“Why shouldn’t I charge Helb the equivalent of a defaulters fee for the time they have withheld my money?” His contact is munuve1@gmail.com.

Seeking Helb refund. The Higher Education Loans Board is never in a hurry to make refunds to those who overpay their loans, says Silas Ngundo, adding the he has been waiting for nearly eight years.

He was advised that his Sh1,400 refund would be made soon. Nothing has happened to date. His university registration number is CO1/820/88.

Safaricom printout nightmare. Frustrated and unhappy, John Wanyama  says that it is nearly three months since the subscriber on Tel 0721268982, wrongly received his Sh30,000 from M-pesa agent Geos Digital in Nairobi, and immediately transferred a total of Sh16,000 to three different accounts, no help has been forthcoming.

“All the officers at the Central Police Station need is a printout from Safaricom to enable them nail the thief. Why should this man be allowed to get away so easily with my money?”

The Geos attendant contact is Tel 0722214015.
