Three dead, 20 injured in Ruai accident


Three people died and at least 20 others are nursing injuries in a Friday morning accident between two public service vehicles at Kamulu area.

The accidents involved a minibus heading to Nairobi and a 14-seater matatu travelling to Tala on the Kangundo-Nairobi road.

According to Kayole OCPD Ali Nuno, the driver of the minibus had attempted to overtake a vehicle but collided with the oncoming matatu.

“The injured, among them the two drivers, were taken to Mama Lucy hospital while investigations into the accident continue,” he said.

The accident happened at 10:30am.

The Kenya Red Cross through its Twitter account confirmed that 20 people had been taken to hospital.
