A suspected thug was shot dead in a botched robbery targeting motorists along Juja Road, Nairobi on Thursday.

The suspect, who was in the company of three accomplices, was gunned down after motorists raised the alarm.

Police say they recovered a pistol, knives, and eight mobile phones believed to have been stolen from victims of the attack.

The latest incident brought to eight the number of those killed in separate crime-related incidents in Nairobi in the last two days.

SHOT DEAD

In one of the incidents, a police constable shot dead by suspected gangsters who also stole his gun.

In Kawangware four suspected thugs were shot dead on Tuesday morning and a motorcycle they are suspected to have stolen recovered.

The four were cornered and killed by police officers at Gatina, according to witnesses.

This after the suspects, who were armed with knives, allegedly attacked and robbed a motorcyclist of his motorcycle.

Police say the men had been linked to a series of robberies in the area that also prompted the reaction.
