TikToker Mummie Francie lands radio presenter role
Popular TikToker Mummie Francie, born Francisca Baye, is the latest entrant to join Radio 47 where she will be co-hosting a show every Wednesday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Speaking about her experience after landing the job opportunity, Mummie shared that this is her first time working on radio and thanked the management for believing in her.
Additionally, she urged her fans to expect something big from her in the industry. “Maybe I will host my show one day, just maybe,” she said.
Renowned radio presenter Billy Miya while announcing that Mummie is the latest entrant to the station shared that things were picking up pace in the new station.
Mummie, born Francisca Mbaye, on her YouTube shared that she was house hunting and even documented the experience to her fans. Before she posted the video, a fan heaped praises at her saying she was a talent the media industry was missing if they did not employ her as soon.
Known for her Swahili, Mummie’s fame blew up overnight after she shared a video of her dancing for her man. The video that generated over 10m saw many people get hooked to her channel.
However, she is lethal to critics and haters and does not tolerate bullying. This has seen some of her accounts get reported on TikTok for violating community guidelines though she still creates new ones.
Early this month, Billy tendered his resignation letter from Radio Maisha, a Standard Media Group-owned station to join Radio 47. This was after Radio Maisha became financially strapped leading to a massive loss of talent. Consequently, in the past few months, renowned presenters at the station quit for greener pastures in the frame of Radio 47 a Cape Media-owned station.
Geoffrey Mung’ou a celebrated news anchor, editor, and producer was among those that left. Beatrice Maganga also quit after 13 years, Lynda Oriaso and Mwalimu Mbaruk also followed suit.
