Time for glam as models strut it for Africa
More than 1,000 models turned up for Strut It Afrika modelling auditions held at Secrets Lounge.
About 400 models made it through the first selection to await the main event, which will be held at the end of the year. The event will take a month as it encompasses other events in East Africa, the grand finale of which will be in Nairobi.
Only 50 ladies will be retained as part of Strut It Afrika models.
Strut It Afrika was founded in November 2011.
The models are selected through annual auditions held once a year and they meet up and get to interact as a way of promoting the local modeling industry.
One of the models said she was excited to be selected, describing it as ‘a lifetime experience’.
She said it made her feel better and more confident about her body and inner self.
