Top county jobs vacant
Half the County government Executive dockets cannot fully start their development programmes because their top positions are yet to be filled.
Chief Officers of dockets such as Health, Education, Tourism, Agriculture Water and Environment have not been recruited.
National government workers are expected to take up some of the positions.
On Tuesday, the County Assembly approved five chief officers, making about five dockets fully functional.
The Assembly also approved the two remaining Executive Member positions – Education and Roads.
Those who sailed through after a tough debate were Rose Mwema (City Planning), Stanley Mwangi (Lands and Housing), Caroline Mawathe (Finance), Christine Ogut ( Roads and Public Works) and Leboo Morintet (Public Service Management).
