Traffic gridlock as roads are closed for visiting Israeli PM


Nairobi city woke up to a major traffic snarl-up following the temporary closure of at least seven roads.

The roads have been closed due to the arrival of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

County police commander has said that Chiromo road will remain closed between Westlands and Museum the whole day for inbound traffic.

However, this will not affect outbound traffic from the city centre to Westlands.

Later in the day, Uhuru Highway, Haile Sellasie, Parliament road, Wabera street will also be closed.

“At some stage, Kenyatta Avenue and State House Avenue will also be closed,”Mr Koome said.

He added that Langata road would also be affected temporarily later in the day
