Truck rams into Njuguna’s pub
Services at Njuguna’s pub and restaurant – a Westland’s joint famed for its nyama choma, were paralysed after a truck rammed into its premises in the morning hours of Monday.
Known for drawing a large middle-to-top class clientele despite its drab features, Njuguna’s proprietor said it will take time to restore the affected part before business resumes.
“We will have to renovate the area first because of our clients. What I can tell you today is that we will not be doing business because of the condition,” said Robert, its manager.
The truck is said to have swerved off the road to avoid hitting a minibus which had suddenly joined the wrong lane after a car did an illegal U-turn near ABC place.
It was later towed to Westlands Police Station.
The nyama choma zone started as a lone butchery in 60’s before the owner diversified into pub and restaurant.
Despite the proliferation of high density commercial properties around it, Njuguna’s cuts a defiant poise and has stood the test of time.
It borders Barclays Bank headquarters, Safaricom House, Chandarana Supermarket and West End Towers that houses Samsung headquarters.
