TV anchor Jacque Maribe grilled by police, fingerprints taken

Citizen TV anchor Jacque Maribe presented herself to police on Thursday afternoon to record a statement on the gruesome death of Monica Kimani.

The TV anchor arrived at Kilimani police station accompanied by relatives and was directed to the Divisional Criminal Investigations Office for interrogation.

Reports indicate that police took her fingerprints to assist in investigations.

Detectives had on Wednesday visited her house in Lang’ata but did not find her. She also did not pick calls and colleagues at work said she was last seen in office on Tuesday.

Ms Maribe is the fiancée of Mr Joseph Irungu, the prime suspect in the killing of 28-year-old businesswoman Monica Kimani, who was found dead in her apartment last week.

In his statement to police, he said he had been with Ms Maribe on the night Ms Kimani was murdered.
