TV girl Jackie Maribe, ex-boyfriend Jowie discover fate in murder case
A court has ruled that TV girl Jackie Maribe and his ex-boyfriend Joseph Irungu have a case to answer in relation to the murder of businesswoman Monical Kimani.
In her ruling made on March 29, 2023, High court judge Grace Nzioka said she reached the finding after considering all the evidence presented by the prosecution led by assistant Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Gikui Gichui.
“After considering all the evidence presented by the prosecution l find that there is humble evidence to put the accused on their defense,” she ruled.
Thus, Maribe, a former Citizen TV reporter, and Jowie, a bouncer, will defend themselves on May 11 and 12, 2023.
Kimani, a South Sudan-based businesswoman, was found dead at her apartment in Kilimani, Nairobi, in 2018.
Court was told her throat had been slit when her body was discovered in her bathtub.
Jowie and Maribe were arrested immediately and charged with her murder.
The duo has been on trial since after the court granted them bail.
