Two Americans were Wednesday night robbed of cash and valuables worth Sh50,500 by a three-man gang in Roysambu estate, Nairobi.

Nick Lusson, 30, was in the company of his friend Khamis Zam Zam when the gang armed with pistols confronted them near Happy Life at around 10.50 p.m.

Police Spokesperson Zipporah Mboroki said the two raised an alarm during the attack, prompting one of the thugs to shoot in the air.

In the ensuing melee, Ms Zam sustained injuries on her mouth and right arm.

Ms Zam was robbed of a mobile phone worth Sh8,000 and a Nexsin tablet worth Sh25,000, while Nick was robbed of his wristwatch valued at Sh10,000, a Nokia 205 mobile phone worth Sh7,000 and Sh500 in cash.

The police spokesperson urged foreigners to be cautious of street thugs while in Nairobi and report attacks to the nearest police station for assistance.

“People should avoid using dark places where they can easily get attacked, injured and robbed,” she added.
