Uganda Cranes camp rocked by kits row

A tussle has ensued between Uganda Cranes players and the team’s management over distribution of playing and training kits at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The players are believed to be bothered by the administrators insistence on retaining a bulk of the kits for display at Federation of Uganda Football Association (Fufa) offices.

“Each of the players and technical bench members were entitled to six pairs of uniforms from the manufacturer, on the assumption we will in play all the games (until the final). Since we only played the three games, I believe we should be given the remaining kits. But the management wants to retain a bulk, for whatever reason,” a Cranes player who spoke off the record, told Nairobi News.

Cranes campaign in this competition ended following a 1-1 draw against Mali on Port Gentil on Wednesday night.

The team had earlier lost to Ghana and Egypt by identical 1-0 scorelines and is expected to fly back to Kampala via Libreville on Thursday afternoon.
