Is this Uhuru’s endorsement of Peter Kenneth? – VIDEO

A video of President Uhuru Kenyatta seemingly endorsing Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth has emerged online.

In the video, President Kenyatta advises Murang’a residents to elect leaders who can develop the country.

He quickly adds that only the electorates will determine the winner in the upcoming nomination and that the party has no preferred candidate.

“Let no one come to you in anyone’s name. Whoever you choose, that is the person we will work with,” the president says in the video.

OTHER ASPIRANTS

This even as in his next point he seemingly endorses Mr Kenneth calling him a hero and urging the people to pray for him.

“Also pray for this jamba (hero) so that he also wins in Nairobi,” he says.

The residents then ask the president to allow Mr Kenneth to greet them and the Nairobi aspirant tells the residents to vote for President Kenyatta.

The video was filmed at a stop over made by President Kenyatta on his way to the burial of Mzee William Gatuhi Murathe, the father of Jubilee Party vice-chairman David Murathe.

Other aspirants who are seeking Nairobi’s gubernatorial seat on the ticket of President Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party are Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, former Starehe MP Bishop Margaret Wanjiru and Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru.
