Uhuru: I want to run to my wife right now
President Uhuru Kenyatta was magnanimous in victory as he offered his initial reaction following news that ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda had withdrawn his charges.
The Head of State’s first reaction was to refer to his deputy William Ruto’s case, saying it would also be dropped.
“President Kenyatta, in reference to the Hague Decision, ‘As they say, One case down’, two more to go #Vindicated,” his official communication outfit, PSCU tweeted, quoting the Head of State.
Bensouda is still pursuing two more cases involving Mr Ruto and radio journalist Joshua arap Sang at The Hague-based court.

An elated Uhuru was quote saying: “I am very keen to run to my wife @FirstLadyKenya (Margaret Kenyatta) right now and tell her what is happening. To be sincere, we are very excited #Vindicated.”
Foreign Affairs Secretary Amina Mohammed, who announced the decision by ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda, was quoted as saying: “We will pursue the other dropping of other cases with the same energy and passion.”
“We are not done yet, we will pursue the dropping of the charges of the other cases,” she added.
The President will address a press conference on the same at State House at 4:30 p.m.
