Uhuru spends Sh1m on bull, but no crowd to cheer

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday made a winning bid of Sh1.1 million for arguably Kenya’s most expensive bull at an auction at the Nairobi International Trade Fair.

Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero was no match to President’s Kenyatta’s financial muscle and had to settled for a runners-up position with his Sh950, 000 bid.

The President immediately donated the 580-kilogrammes bull to police officers in Nairobi county, though it is unclear how they will share it.

He was presiding over the official opening of the trade fair that was characterised by a poor turnout of wananchi. The heavy deployment of security officers overshadowed the people who attended the fair.

The President returned home Thursday night from New York, United States, where he attended the 70th United Nations General Assembly.
