Uhuru visits eight KDF soldiers injured in Lamu attack
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday paid a visit to the eight soldiers injured in Sunday’s attack by Al-Shabaab militants at a Kenya Defense Forces camp in Lamu.
The officers are admitted at the Defense Forces Memorial Hospital and are in stable condition.

The President lauded their courage that saw 11 Al-Shabaab militants killed including British jihadist Thomas Evans. Two Kenyan soldiers were killed during the attack.
“Thank you very much to our brave soldiers and their courage is a statement that Kenya will not be intimidated,” President Uhuru said in a press briefing after visiting the soldiers.

Photos of the President on the bedside of each of the officers were shared on social media by State House’s communication team
President Uhuru also visited a Garissa University female student injured in the terror attack in April that left over 60 people dead. The student is admitted in the same hospital.
