Morning commuters in Umoja Estate were left stranded on Thursday after three matatu saccos operating in the estate boycotted work to protest encroachment by rivals.
The saccos kept off roads after a rival sacco from Komarock Estate, Risen sacco started picking passengers in Umoja
According to Umoinner sacco drivers, Risen sacco matatus are not supposed to pick passengers in Umoja.
They called on the National Transportation and Safety Authority (NTSA) to intervene on the route wars.
The Thursday morning strike forced hundreds of stranded passengers to walk to Buru buru and Donholm to get transport to their places of work.
