A secondary school in Umoja 2 was on Sunday gutted in a dawn fire suspected to have been caused by arsonists.

The fire burnt down the administration block of Peter Kibukosya secondary school.

The block was recently constructed using funds from CDF .

The area’s MP George Theuri described the fire as “an arson attack by unknown people”.

The fire was put out by local residents.

The Police visited the scene and said they have started investigations on the cause of the fire.

This is not the first time that a CDF project has been destroyed in Umoja.

In July, offices put up to house a youth group were demolished by unknown people.

“For how long will these acts go on? You wake up in the morning and the structures you had put up to help the local youths have been flattened,” Mr Theuri had lamented.

Mr Theuri at the time blamed the destruction on sabotage by his political rivals.
