Actor Lung’aho makes ‘Gentlemen Wanted’ finalists’ shortlist
Actor Blessing Lung’aho is among the three shortlisted finalists in the Gentlemen Wanted campaign which is seeking a Kenyan brand ambassador for American whiskey, Jack Daniel.
The campaign was launched in May 2017, and received over 2,000 applications who underwent rigorous vetting by a panel of judges and observers to narrow down to the three finalists.
The two other finalists are David Mutunga and Fidel Maithya.
Speaking to Nairobi News, Mr Lung’aho, who describes himself as a fun guy and a people’s person, said all he wanted was to represent Kenya as the ambassador.
“I’m a certified gentleman and I always bring the best out of people and it’s always good to give back by spreading some fun to others,” he said.
VOTING PROCESS
The Gentleman Wanted campaign targeted charismatic Kenyans above 21 years with ability to embody the spirit of the brand and its values of authenticity, independence and integrity.
“When we launched the Gentlemen Wanted campaign, two months ago, we received an overwhelming number of applications and we are pleased to report that we are down to the final three,” said Zara Kuria, Jack Daniels Kenya brand manager.
“We are now calling on the public to help us select the best of three by voting through our Facebook page,” he said.
The voting phase started on July 18 and will close on July 31, 2017, after which the winner will be announced.
The ambassador will then travel to the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, USA. He will be shown the same whiskey making process that Jasper Newton, “Jack” Daniel himself used, before heading back to Kenya to officially take up the role.
