WATCH: Moment Speaker Elachi used pepper spray on MCAs
Besieged Nairobi Speaker Beatrice Elachi was on Monday filmed using a pepper spray to ward off rowdy MCAs who had stormed her office to evict her.
Ms Elachi unsheathed the pepper spray and deployed a generous amount of its content to nominated MCA Mary Njambi Njuguna and her colleagues.
The MCAs had last week impeached the Speaker, but Ms Elachi obtained a reprieve from the Labour Court that issued a temporary order suspending the impeachment.
On Monday, Ms Njambi was a leading voice in the quest to evict the Speaker from office. The Speaker targeted her face with the spray.

Ms Njambi: “Ametuwekea pilipili, ngoja ataona.”
She added; “Na si hii ni criminal? Kwa nini ametuwekea pilipili?
Minority leader Kileleshwa MCA Elias Otieno pleaded with Ms Njambi telling her; “Ok sawa Njambi, tafadhali tunataka heshima mupatie yeye heshima aende na heshima. Njambi let us just give her heshima.”
Njambi replied; “Ametunyima heshima ametupakia pilipili kwa macho.”
Otieno responded; “Let us just allow her atoke na heshima.”
Njambi concluded; “Tumempatia three minutes, atoke.”
By the time of publishing, Elachi was yet to leave her office in the standoff with MCAs.
Ms Njambi enjoys close ties with Governor Mike Sonko’s family. A search through her social media handles reveals that she is County First Lady Primrose Mbuvi’s BFF.
The two were recently pictured in a playful tight embrace as they flashed wide smiles.
