Victor Wanyama’s brother dumps Arsenal despite naming son Theo Walcott


Victor Wanyama’s sibling has officially announced his “divorce” from Arsenal Football Club.

Meschack Wanyama confirmed in a brief Facebook post Saturday afternoon he is switching allegiance to Tottenham Hotspur, a club his younger brother now plays for.

“Help me wish Tottenham victory after officially parting ways with Arsenal,” Meshack, a Nairobi businessman, declared in a brief post, hours before the start of the 2016/2017 English Premier League season.

He also uploaded a picture of himself donning a brand new Tottenham replica jersey.

Meshack has been an Arsenal fan for the better part of the last decade.

So attached was he to Arsene Wenger outfit, that he named his first born son Walcott in recognition of the Gunners English forward talents.

The senior Wanyama has however, albeit understandably, opted to decamp from religiously supporting the Arsene Wenger managed side, in favour of Mauricio Pocchettino’s outfit. Tottenham

Wanyama switched to Tottenham from Southampton last June, in a deal estimated to be worth Sh2 billion.

He signed a five year lucrative estimated to be in the region of Sh30 million a month.

Tottenham and Arsenal are big rivals in the English Premier League. The clubs are both based in London, barely six kilometres apart.

Tottenham are hoping to improve on their third place finish attained in the English Premier League last season.

Besides, Spurs are gracing for a grueling season which comes with competing in the UEFA Champions League.
