Village in shock after 10 year-old boy commits suicide – VIDEO
A village in Murang’a county has been left in shock after a Class Three pupil allegedly committed suicide on Sunday.
Ten year-old Caleb Mihunyo’s body was found dangling on a branch of a tree metres from their house.
According to his mother Beth Wanjiru, the boys uncle stumbled on the body while going to a nearby plot.
“His uncle was going to the plot and he saw the child dangling from a tree, after seeing him he tried to call his name but there was no response and when there was no response he ran back and called his father and together they rushed and removed him from the tree,” she added.
According to the parents, Caleb had been sent to take a rope to his aunt who lives nearby. He took longer than expected prompting a search.
They found him hanging on a tree with the same rope he was to deliver.
The matter was reported to the local chief who called the police.
