Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu has said he has initiated criminal proceedings against Kiambu Governor William Kabogo to answer to charges of presenting a false document.

While hitting out at Mr Kabogo for allegedly using forged documents to prove his case against him over his degree qualification, Mr Waititu said the governor had not filed any single transcript to prove that he studied in Panjab University unlike him.

In further case documents filed on Tuesday, Mr Waititu accused him of failing to defend the “fake documents”.

TARNISH HIS NAME

He said Mr Kabogo just wanted to wrongly use the court process to tarnish his political name as well as support.

“In spite of my having comprehensively demonstrated to Mr Kabogo that I fully attended my undergraduate degree course in India, he has made a red herring issue of this … I have already initiated the criminal process against him at the Kilimani police station and he is to be arraigned at the Kibera Court,” said Mr Waititu.

The MP said Clifford Karanja Waititu, whose identity he has been accused of stealing, was dead and insisted he was only employed by the Public Service Commission in January 16, 1989 as an accountant in the Finance ministry with the name Clifford Ndung’u Waititu.

He also presented documents to show his bank transactions as well as the church he used to attend while he was a studying in the said university in India. He further presented pay slips as proof.

UNMASK GOVERNOR

The MP said he wanted the court to unmask the governor for attempting to challenge his integrity “using false allegations” concerning his undergraduate education.

He insisted that his birth date is April 4, 1961 and not April 4, 1964 as alleged and he was admitted at the institution on June 19, 1979.

Mr Waititu accused Mr Kabogo of not being an original native of Kiambu County as well as “having questionable academic qualifications”.

“I believe he is desperately attempting to run away from his own manufactured documents,” he said.
