Wanga close to Bidvest Wits move

Harambee Stars lead striker Allan Wanga was on Wednesday morning spotted at South Africa’s Visa Application Centre in Nairobi, thus fuelling speculation he was on the verge of completing a move to the country’s top flight league.

The 27 year old has for the past two seasons been courted by a number of South African clubs including SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, reports have it that it is Bidvest Wits who have invited Wanga for discussions for what is believed to be a deal worth Sh 14 million.

IMPRESSIVE CAREER

“I am in talks with a number of clubs but nothing has been concluded as yet, I will inform you at the appropriate time,” the former Petro Atletico (Angola) and AFC Leopards striker told Nairobi News.

Wanga, who featured for the national football team during the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Republic of Congo over the weekend, has had an impressive football career for both local and international clubs.

His exploits include top scoring in the Kenyan Premier League with a record 22 goals, and scoring both goals in Harambee Stars 2-0 win over Sudan in the final of the 2013 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Nairobi.

Wanga also netted the lone strike for El Merreikh against Rwanda’s APR in the final of 2014 Cecafa Club Championship in Rwanda.
