Want-away Ugandan player demands full dues from Gor Mahia
A Ugandan top flight club has offered to take Gor Mahia winger Arthur Ssemazi on a six month loan deal, but the player is holding up the deal until he is paid in full all the arrears owed to him by the Kenyan Premier League champions.
Nairobi News understands Lweza FC which is Ssemazi’s former club have already formally requested for Gor Mahia to offer them the player on a “free loan” and they are willing to pay his salary for that duration.
Lweza who have also signed former AFC Leopards winger Dan Wagaluka, are fighting relegation in the Uganda Super League, and believe Ssemazi can play a vital role in keeping them up.
But the player is insisting that Gor Mahia pay him his two and a half months salary arrears believed to be in the region of Sh 150,000 and some unspecified sum he is yet to receive as remainder of his sign on fees.
“Gor Mahia need to be pushed to pay the cash and Arthur knows that he has everything on his side, even if it means remaining in Kenya, and petitioning Fifa for breach of contract. So he needs an assurance that this will be settled,” a source who is privy to the ongoings told Nairobi News.
Both parties have less than 72 hours to complete this move, with the transfer deadline set to be formally closed on January 31.
