Wanted: Jilted woman on the run after stabbing and injuring police ex-lover
Police have launched a manhunt for a woman who stabbed and seriously injured a police officer on Sunday night after the latter ended their relationship.
Ms Pamela Njambi, 30, allegedly attacked the officer as he walked out of her house in Zimmerman, Nairobi County and stabbed him in the abdomen before she fled.
According to a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the injured officer is based at Zimmerman Police Post.
The officer in a statement told his colleagues that Ms Njambi had invited him to her house in a bid to rekindle the already dead relationship.
But the officer turned down the overtures and informed the woman that he had already moved on.
“This did not appear to have gone down well with the 30-year-old woman who stealthy followed the officer and stabbed him with a sharp object before she fled into the darkness,” the police said.
According to the police, the man was stabbed right outside the gate of the apartment where Ms Njambi resides.
Neighbours immediately responded to the officer’s distress call and found him writhing in pain on the ground.
The officer was then rushed him to St John’s Hospital where he received first aid before he was transferred to a specialized facility within the city for further treatment.
“The officer who suffered a stab wound in the abdomen is currently in stable condition as efforts to arrest the assailant intensity,” the DCI said.
Cases of lovers harming or killing each other have been on the rise in the recent past.
On November 21, 2022 a woman was arrested by detectives attached to DCI in Ong’ata Rongai after she killed her boyfriend.
The detectives believe Ms Jacklyn Zakayo, 27, ended the life of 47-year-old Kennedy Bitoye.
Ms Zakayo allegedly committed the heinous act on Saturday, November 19, 2022 before fleeing the rental apartment where the deceased who worked as a driver at the Kenya School of Law (KSL) was residing.
