WATCH: Christina ‘Mwende’ Shusho drops new collabo with Mercy Masika

Tanzanian songstress Christina Shusho, who recently headlined the Shusha Nyavu concert on New Year’s Eve in Nairobi, revealed a delightful surprise gifted to her by renowned comedian Mwalimu Churchill.

After delivering a captivating performance, Shusho disclosed that Churchill bestowed upon her the Kenyan name “Mwende.”

The revelation came as the singer was drumming up support for her latest release, “Rebecca,” a collaboration with Kenyan artist Mercy Masika.

“Christina Shusho ‘Mwende’ (my Kenyan name given to me by @MwalimChurchill),” she shared on her social media, showcasing the cross-border camaraderie between artists.

Expressing her gratitude, Shusho thanked Kenyans for turning out in large numbers for her show, held at Garden City. She also extended appreciation to Churchill and his team for orchestrating a spectacular event.

The New Year’s Eve concert featured an array of talented artists, including Solomon Mkubwa, Mercy Masika, and the Zabron singers.

Comedic relief was provided by Tom Daktari, Nicki Bigfish, Terrence Creative, Arnold Xaviour, Omwami comedian, Adhis Jojo, Milly Chebby, and others, ensuring a night filled with diverse entertainment.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and his wife also graced the event, joining the enthusiastic crowd in ushering in the new year with joy.

The concert marked a resounding success, drawing a substantial crowd of Christina Shusho’s fans eager to witness her epic performance.

The Tanzanian sensation did not disappoint, delivering a two-hour live spectacle that left the audience in awe, concluding the night in a stylish manner that brought the event to a memorable close.

Before exiting the stage, Shusho expressed her love for Kenyans, declaring the country her second home.

She also lauded Mercy Masika, with whom she performed, describing her as her favorite Kenyan musician.
