WATCH: ‘I am your last man’, singer Muigai Wa Njoroge’s vow to estranged wife

Gladys Njeri, the first wife of controversial artiste Muigai Wa Njoroge, has left fans in disbelief after declaring her departure from their 12-year polygamous marriage.

Njeri has four children with Muigai wa Njoroge.

After being married for nine years, Muigai’s decision to take on a second wife extended the total duration of the marriage to 21 years.

Speaking in a recent radio interview, Njeri disclosed that the complexities of the polygamous relationship became overwhelming, prompting her to seek peace by ending the union.

Njeri shared the emotional journey she experienced after her musician husband married a second wife.

Although she initially coped and accepted the situation, she expressed dissatisfaction with how the second wife handled the delicate dynamics.

Alleging that Muigai left her financially strained for another woman, Njeri revealed that she resorted to alcoholism during this challenging period, exacerbated by her husband dedicating a song to the second wife titled ‘Gituure Wi Murata’ (Remain my friend forever).

After a tumultuous period, Njeri disclosed that she reconciled with Muigai, and they proceeded to conduct their traditional wedding.

In a gesture of dedication, Muigai also released a song titled ‘Waku wa Muico’ (Your last one), where he expressed his commitment to becoming her last lover.

The song lyrics serve as a solemn vow, emphasizing his dedication to a lasting connection.

“Sometimes I wish to talk to you but I am afraid because there are so many wounds and I am afraid I will add more.  “When you look at a man like me, don’t think I am an angel.

We are just two unworthy individuals who have united and the best we can do is to take care of each other. There is nothing that will beat our thirst for this love.

I don’t deny that I was later to marry you as your first man but I am ready to be your last man. I will pray to God to allow me and also close all doors where divorce would come in at least we finish this race together,” he expressed tenderly.

He adds that: “Be at peace and stop getting angry because of love. Regardless of direction, home is always the best.”

However, the joyous reunion, as Njeri revealed, was abrupt, and they failed to address the underlying marital issues.

“It is very unfortunate because we did not even discuss a thing. I never got a chance to speak up on all the pain he had caused me,” she expressed during the interview.

Despite Queen Stacy, the second wife, relocating abroad during this time, Njeri disclosed that she invited her back to Kenya to help salvage the polygamous marriage.

Their public display on social media opened a window into their private life, but unfortunately, the blissful days were short-lived.

Despite her sincere efforts, Njeri admitted that her marriage eventually crumbled, leading to her separation from the renowned singer.

“We tried, I don’t want to blame anyone because we tried, but unfortunately, it never worked, and that is the saddest thing. It never worked, anger became the danger,” she said.
