Wema Sepetu’s boyfriend Whozu explains why he regularly visits her house
Tanzanian musician Whozu has shed light on the incident that led to actress Wema Sepetu being scolded by her mother for cohabiting with him.
In September, Wema found herself in an uncomfortable situation when her mother, Mariam Sepetu, confronted her for living with Whozu without formally introducing him to the family.
Wema’s mother emphasised the importance of proper respect as a daughter, urging her to inform the family before publicly introducing Whozu as her fiancé.
“You must respect your mother as your daughter. You can’t simply introduce him to the public. First, come and inform your mother that you have a boyfriend, a fiancé. You don’t need to parade him around. I am your mother,” she asserted.
In an interview with Clouds FM, Whozu clarified the situation, explaining that Wema’s mother found him in her house twice, leading to the misconception that he lived there.
“It can’t be that I am getting money, I have a well family and everyone is doing very well. It is funny and shameful that I do not have my house. I live near Wema Sepetu’s house. I spend most of my time at her house because she cooks very nice food. I do not cook so much in my house but Wema’s house has all types of food. That’s why I go there. Her mother found me at her house, and she started thinking that I live in her house, but I have my own house.”
This incident is not the first time Wema’s mother has publicly expressed her disapproval.
In 2018, she forcibly evicted Wema’s then-boyfriend from their home late at night due to concerns about her daughter’s numerous relationships and apparent reluctance to settle down in marriage.
Reports suggest that Mariam Sepetu has been eager to see her 30-year-old daughter tie the knot, as Wema’s romantic involvements have been numerous and hard to keep track of.
