Wheelchair-bound Shebesh submits nomination papers to IEBC – PHOTOS
Nairobi Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh was on Tuesday cleared by the electoral commission to defend her seat.
Ms Shebesh was ferried to Stadion Hotel, Kasarani, in an ambulance from Nairobi Hospital where she is recuperating from a recent surgery
She arrived at the hotel 2pm and was then pushed on a wheelchair to face Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC) officials.
Her right leg was heavily bandaged.
The leg was reportedly infected after being ripped by a wire in the campaign trail.
Other candidates cleared to run for the seat are Esther Passaris (ODM) and Nadya Khan (Chap Chap).
Ms Shebesh was visited on her hospital bed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto on Monday.
