When Akothee revealed the one thing she has in common with Tina Turner
Kenyan songbird Akothee is known for living large and bragging about. Which perhaps explains why sometime in 2018, she proudly claimed that in her many travels abroad she is always surrounded by rich and famous neighbours.
One of these neighbours, Akothee said, was none other than the late American singer and actress Tina Turner, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 83 after a prolonged illness.
In that social media post in 2018, Akothee humorously challenged her fans who dared to compete by revealing where she resides whenever she in Switzerland where one of her sons, Ojwang’.
Akothee’s baby daddy, Markus Urs Meyer, a French national, lives in Switzerland, where Akothee frequently visits her son.

“So who do you think you are to wish me misfortune? I believe it’s just me and Tina Turner, as she resides directly opposite my house in Zurich! Epic levels!” Akothee wrote back then.
Akothee also shared a magnificent lake house mansion in Switzerland. While the house may not be officially hers, it belongs to her baby daddy.
Again in September 2018, the singer flaunted the house, highlighting its stunning backyard that overlooks the picturesque Lake Lugano.
Akothee also revealed that she, Tina Turner inspired her as she showcased how the interior of her posh holiday home looks like.
Meanwhile, the music world is still coming to terms with the demise of Turner, whose powerful voice and electrifying performances captivated audiences worldwide. Turner passed away at her home in Küsnacht, near Zurich, Switzerland.

A representative announcing her death said the world had lost a music legend and a role model. They praised her indomitable spirit and boundless vitality and acknowledged how Tina Turner captivated millions of fans and inspired countless artists for generations to come.
Tina Turner’s private memorial service will be attended by close friends and family who will bid farewell to the legendary singer. Tributes have poured in from a grieving music world, including her manager of thirty years, Roger Davies, who described her as a “unique and remarkable force of nature”.
In recent years, Turner had faced health challenges, including a diagnosis of intestinal cancer in 2016.
Showing her resilience and determination, she underwent a kidney transplant in 2017, bravely battling against her illness with strength and grace.
As news of her passing spreads, fans and fellow artistes alike have been paying glowing tributes to Turner for her extraordinary legacy.
