WHO director general goes into self-quarantine after contact gets Covid-19
Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organisation (WHO), has gone into self-quarantine after someone he had contact with tested positive for Covid-19.
Dr Tedros, who made the announcement on his Twitter page on Sunday, however, revealed that he had not been exhibiting symptoms of Coronavirus.
He said he will be working from home for the period of the quarantine.
βI have been identified as a contact of someone who has tested positive for #COVID19. I am well and without symptoms but will self-quarantine over the coming days, in line with WHO protocols, and work from home,β he wrote on Twitter.

The 55-year-old former Ethiopian minister of health and foreign affairs further urged everyone to comply with health guidance to curb the spread of the virus.

Since the outbreak of Covid-19, Dr Tedros who joined WHO in 2017 has been at the forefront of global efforts to fight the pandemic.
Globally, more than 46 million Covid-19 confirmed cases have been reported while the number of deaths stands at over 1.1 million.
