Why Churchill invited Christina Shusho for New Year’s Eve event
Comedian Churchill Daniel Ndambuki has shed light on the decision to feature Tanzanian gospel musician as the headliner for his annual Churchill Show New Year’s Eve event, revealing he prioritised the preferences of his audience.
During the concert held at Garden City, Churchill addressed the crowd, explaining the process that led to the selection of the Tanzanian gospel artist.
He disclosed that he engaged netizens through his social media platforms, seeking suggestions for the ideal NYE gig.
The overwhelming response leaned towards a full-blown gospel concert with the Tanzanian songstress taking center stage.
Initially considering including comedy in the show, Churchill stated that Kenyans expressed a different preference, leading him to pivot towards a gospel-centric event.
Describing the show as one of the most successful he has ever done, Churchill expressed gratitude to the audience for their support.
Despite the absence of traditional advertising methods such as billboards, radio ads, or newspaper promotions, the venue was filled to capacity.
“There was no single billboard, no radio advert, or even a newspaper advert but the venue is full. What happened is that I chose to listen to the voice of Kenyans. I have a whole creative team and a research team who decide what we are going to do for the end-year party,” explained Churchill.
He highlighted the significance of audience input, emphasizing that the show’s success was attributed to aligning with the desires of the public.
Churchill acknowledged the challenges faced during the planning phase, including sponsors withdrawing as the show evolved.
“You said you don’t want comedy or anything else, all you wanted is to scream and ask God for blessings in this new year and I chose to listen to the voice of God. I kept changing my posters and sponsors kept withdrawing from the show but today, we have done it so well and this this is the biggest show.”
Despite the hurdles, he expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support that allowed him to be a blessing to thousands of people who depend on him for entertainment and inspiration.
” I am grateful for supporting me so that I can be a blessing to thousands of people who depend on me.”

Comedic relief was provided by Tom Daktari, Nicki Bigfish, Terrence Creative, Arnold Xaviour, Omwami comedian, Adhis Jojo, Milly Chebby, and others.
