Why I don’t go to church – Jackie Matubia

Kenyan actress Jackie Matubia has in a recent interview shared why she is not a churchgoer.

The renowned TV star said that while she believes in God, however, it has been a while since she last worshipped in church, saying that she hasn’t yet found a church to go to.

“I believe in God, but I don’t go to church. I haven’t yet found a church to go to,” Matubia shared.

When asked why she surrounds herself with friends who go to church yet she doesn’t, she said that what matters to her is a personal relationship with God.

“Yeah those are my friends, but for me no. You know everyone has a personal relationship with God so for me that’s what matters,” she said.

Speaking on bagging her first million, the mother of two shared that she made her first million between the age of 22-23 while doing an advert.

“I think I made my first million at the age of 22-23. I did an advert,” she revealed.

Just recently, Matubia set social media ablaze when she shared her invaluable insights with women, emphasizing the importance of choosing intelligent partners and acknowledging men who actively participate in child-rearing.

In a YouTube video, Matubia candidly discussed her 2023 journey, complete with its ups and downs.

Gratefully reflecting on her path, she declared, “I am trying to reconnect with my fans on YouTube. It’s been an incredible journey. I am a proud single mother of two. I decided that what makes Jackie happy is good vibes, Inshallah, and let’s catch flights, not feelings.”

Matubia humorously advised her audience, “I keep telling you guys, even if you decide to have children, choose partners with intelligence.” She playfully added, “Because some of us, even those offering advice, have been caught off guard.”

Acknowledging her life as a trending topic, she said, “Oh, Jackie Matubia, Jackie Matubia, my name may sound sweet, but all I can say is I decided to love myself and put myself first.” Tears welled up as she described her small family.

Reflecting on her journey as a single mother, Jackie emphasized the role of faith and self-love. “God has been my anchor when everything else was falling apart. He assured me that He is the Alpha and Omega and has been the father to my kids. He provided a shoulder to lean on. These past months have been tumultuous; we lose some and gain more. If you’re going through a tough time, take a moment to ask yourself what makes you happy.”
