Why it is a Special Father’s Day for Faith Kipyegon’s dad


Double world record holder Ms Faith Kipyegon’s dream of gifting her father a car has come true.

This is after RANA Auto Motors, gifted her father a motor vehicle just days after she revealed she had promised to get him a car.

Speaking during the function where her father was handed the vehicle, Ms Kipyegon who was full of emotions thanked RANA Auto Motors for making her dream come true.

“I made it public at State House that I was going to buy my father a car and I cannot imagine that my father is going to get a car from RANA Auto Motors. I really thank him so much and I am so happy for all these,” Ms Kipyegon said.

Mr Sultana Rana, who is the CEO for RANA Auto Motors while handing the car keys to the father said that it was a sign of a responsibility that is being invested to the people of Kenya.

Ms Kipyegon recently went set new world records in the 1500 meters and 5000 meters’ races in the Diamond League meetings in Florence Italy and in Paris France.

On June 13, 2023, Ms Kipyegon while speaking at State House in the presence of President Dr William Ruto said that she was planning to buy her father a car and she would use the money she received as an award to fulfill the promise.

Ms Kipyegon was amongst other sports persons who were awarded for their exemplary performance.

During the function, President Dr Ruto awarded her with Sh5 million and a house valued at Sh6 million for breaking the world records.

The President said the State will be awarding athletes with Sh5 million for breaking world records.

President Dr Ruto also awarded Ferdinand Omanyala Sh2 million.

Mr Omanyala is the Commonwealth and Africa 100m champion.
