Kenya National Examination Council (Knec) chairman George Magoha has asked field officers to ensure that the examination material remain “virgin”.

“The examination is a ‘virgin’ as it is going to be from our warehouses, we would like it to be ‘virgin’ when it’s coming back. And you are the one who have the responsibility to ensure that it remains ‘virgin’,” said Prof Magoha while addressing officers in Nairobi who will be tasked with management of the exercise starting next week.

Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho assured Prof Magoha that the examination will remain ‘virgin’.

“When that exams is given to us, it will arrive ‘virgin’ as professor has said,” added Mr Kibicho.

FAKE MATERIALS

“We want to assure that once that exams is given to us CSs it will be safe, however, I do not know exactly what professor meant by saying that we return it as a ‘virgin’ because it will have been opened,” he went on.

The two spoke at Kenya School of Government this week in the presence of Cabinet Secretaries Amina Mohamed (Education) and Fred Matiang’i (Interior).

Prof Magoha cautioned parents against providing money to candidates for the purchase of fake examination materials.

Mr Kibicho assured the candidates and parents that more than 70,000 security officers will be available to ensure that the exercise goes on well.
