Why this South African man attempted to fly half-naked
A South African man who was pictured in his briefs at Malawi’s Kamuzu International Airport has become an internet sensation.
The man who arrived at the airport in his briefs with two travel bags at hand was initially reported by Malawi News to have smoked Malawian hemp, hindering his judgment.
However, it was later established that the man was creating awareness and raising funds for children by flying in his Speedo swimwear.
The magazine quoted Madswimmers, a charity swimming organization which said Greig Bannatyne had taken the swimming challenge a notch higher, all for charity.
“One of our Lake Malawi swimmers – Greig Bannatyne – raised an additional R30, 000 for the cause by travelling home to SA in his Speedo! There were a few (official) issues along the way, but Greig, you’re our true hero!”
